Wine Review: Naked Grape Cabernet Sauvignon

Any wine that has the word Naked emblazoned across it’s label is certain to find it’s way into the FAB East kitchen. Of course the fact that I am the worlds worst point of purchase victim is made even worse at the mere suggestion of potential nudity.

In this case, naked refers to grapes that are unoaked in their transformation to yummy adult goodness. This may be the jammiest Cab that we’ve ever tasted. Rather than comparing this one to your typical Cab, think about a really young Aussie Shiraz. Smooth and jammy, it tastes like a nice blend of black cherry and blackberry.
Oddly, the web site has no contact info for the winery. The bottle yields a bit more info, but not much. With facilities in British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick, Naked Grape blends imported and domestic wines to create their stellar product. It’s just a bit strange that they don’t offer up any contact info, as they have a product to be proud of.

Naked Grape Cabernet Sauvignon is available in BC, Alberta, New Brunswick and Ontario. Here in Ontario at the LCBO it was $13.95 and worth every penny.

I very much agree that this Cab it one of the best I have ever had and also it more like a shiraz from like S. Africa or even the Aussies.
