Quick Chicken Roll-ups

The following recipe is a quick, easy chicken recipe I adapted from the Kraft website. The kids love it and it’s easy for them to help make. Clean up is quick and easy as well.
Quick Chicken Roll-Ups
4-5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or fillets)
1 package stove top stuffing
1 package shake and bake
Take chicken breasts […]

Less Stinky Soup

Many years ago (about 15), Time Life came out with a series of American Country books. At that time, we were into many things country. The series of books was well done with great photographs but the most interesting to us was the country cooking book. I still use some of these […]

Big Stinky Soup

A few years ago we had a dinner party where every couple was expected to bring a specific course and a bottle of wine (or two) to accompany it. We had 5 couples who brought an appetizer, salad, soup, a main course and dessert. For this particular evening, we made the soup; a […]

Squash Pesto Bake

Since we always celebrate the major holidays at our house, we are always looking for new recipes to try out. On Friday morning, we were flipping through the TV and stopped on Everyday Italian, a show we had never watched before. The hostess, Giada De Laurentis, was reviewing vegetable recipes. One of […]

Sandy

When Gary asked me to write something about myself for Foodies, I really didn't want to. When most kids were working at fast food chain restaurants, I was working at the age of 15 in the snack bar of the McMichael Canadian Collection of Art for $2.10 an hour (oops, I think I just let my age slip!). I worked every weekend and my girlfriend and I basically ran the place, no managers and no one to buffer us from the very rude customers, at times. I also worked in the dining room, at times, but preferred the quietness of the out-building which was the snack shack. I also worked in an ice cream shop and pretty much put myself through university by working my way up to assistant manager for $5 an hour. Pretty ridiculous really but it worked. Hell, I worked too!!! With the odds stacked up against me, it's surprising that I still like to spend time in the kitchen. While I really don't like baking, I do like cooking, and eating. I think the best part of it is sharing with friends and family. Even though we don't get to entertain as often as we would like, when we do, we do it right. Now, if I could only get Gary to do the dishes!!!!! Cheers!
