Killer Cocktail: Peaches

Walking on the beaches looking at the peaches: The Stranglers
We’ve all had the legendary Fuzzy Navel. It got old around 1988 and yet some bars are still serving it. Today, we have a modern twist on a not so classic.

Saint Patties Day Chili

Chili for Saint Patrick’s Day? It’s not green, so what gives? Well, the February issue of Bon Appetit has a great looking recipe for Beef & Dark Beer Chili. I’d been eying the recipe for a few weeks & then figured with a pint of Guinness it would make an almost Irish meal. Ok, I […]

Welcome Back to the FAB East Kitchen - Happy St Patties Day!

So why the welcome back? Did we go anywhere? Well, not really it just seems like we haven’t been in the kitchen much. Really there is always so much going on here that we don’t have the time to enjoy the kitchen. Truth be told, I haven’t gotten wound up over spending time in the […]

Weird Point of Sale Offer: Sake & Batteries

I have to be the worlds most gullible shopper & a marketer’s dream. I’ve come home from the liquor store with all sorts of goodies, from golf balls & divot tools to corkscrews and corks. There have even been some coasters and a cigar cutter, but batteries? What was the marketing department thinking on this […]

Giada De Laurentiis Looking FAB in South Beach

Ok, so Giada’s not in the kitchen. And there isn’t really any food action going on. And….I’m really not sure why I’m posting this except that Giada looks great in a bikini on a jetski. Enjoy this scene from the new Food TV series Giada’s Weekend Getaways.

Thanks to Men in Aprons for turning me on!
That’s […]

Stuffed Chicken Breast with Roasted Red Pepper Puree

A couple of weeks ago, we were having afternoon bevvies and munchies at East Side Mario’s and a chicken main caught my eye. It was some sort of stuffed chicken breast with a red pepper sauce. Great idea.
This recipe is easy to prepare and doesn’t require much preparation. Best of all it will impress your […]

Hot Rod Mop Brush

Here in the FAB East kitchen, we just love BBQ tools. Given the amount of time we spend in The Garage, the Hot Rod line of BBQ tools will just be perfect for us. The line includes the Mop Brush, Grilling Tongs, Turner and a Fork. They all come etched with a cool flame […]

Gary

Like most people, I had a first career before I found my calling in the car industry. I worked in just about every position the restaurant industry offers, from Busboy to Host, Bartender to Line Cook, Catering Manger to Floor Manager. The love of Mixology was a given, so tending bar was natural for me. The only problem may have been the excessive consumption of my creations! Spending time in the kitchen, from salad/dessert bar to sweating over the grill taught me the skills needed for a lifetime of experimentation in the kitchen. While I love trying new recipes, I'm just as happy creating something new of my own. Outside of the daily grind I spend way too much time writing for The Garage, so it seems only fitting that I should write about our time in the kitchen with friends and family.
