We have the best friends ever!!!! Whenever we get together with the FAB east kitchen (formerly, the FAB west kitchen) we always have a great time of cooking, drinking and socializing. Not only do Mooby and One of Seven help cook and clean, buy food and booze, and make us laugh (a lot), they also came bearing a gift this past weekend. (Well actually, several gifts which included beer glasses, but I digress). It wasn’t the typical house guest bottle of wine, or home-made preserves or bath soap it was a Paderno professional stainless steel pizza cutter.
Now, those of you who have read Foodies may know that One of Seven and Mooby actually got Gary into making his own pizza dough (which has blown out of proportion and now he makes all kinds of bread products…not that I am complaining). It’s relatively easy (at least from my perspective as I sit in the other room while he makes it) and it tastes great. Since making our own pizza, we have progressed from cutting the slices with a knife, to buying a pizza wheel and now, using the pizza slicer. I have never actually used a pizza slicer, nor even really looked at them in the store but what a great tool. Whereas the pizza wheel tends to roll through the pizza and push all the cheese and toppings out of the way as it goes, the pizza slicer is a big ass blade that cuts straight through as you rock it gently back and forth. Once you use one, you will never go back.
