Forget Wake Stock, we’ve got Steak Stock!

While digging in the freezer the other day, I found a broken package containing 2 now freezer burnt t-bones. They were burnt to the point that they weren’t salvageable as steaks, but there is no way I’m going to throw away a couple of t-bones! Solution? Make stock!

So I filled the stock pot with water, tossed in the 2 big steaks and a bunch of veggies. Carrots, celery, potatoes, a turnip, an onion, a couple of cloves of garlic and a couple of bay leaves. The pot simmered from 4 till about 7:30 and the result is the golden nectar you see above. We now have about 6 liters of steak stock in house.

The pooch will be happy too, as the steak and most of the veggies are destined to be in his dish over the next few days!
