One of the scary things about promises made online is that the folks behind those promises often don’t come through with the goods. Either that or they are working some other angle. When the Republic of Bacon appealed to their readers to sign up for a free pack of bacon, I was skeptical. Skepticism aside, there was the promise of free bacon, so I sent in my info. Also, Canadian meat giant Maple Leaf was said to be involved so there was some potential for an actual delivery on the promise.
Woot! A couple of weeks later, an envelope arrived in the mail containing a letter from Forsythe P. Baconsworth, the Official Ambassador of the Republic of Bacon. Neatly tucked inside said letter was an honest to goodness coupon for a free package of Maple Leaf bacon in their new recloseable package.
Pretty cool stuff, now if I could just get a free coffee to go with it!
